Neurochem Honoured With Prestigious "Prix de l'Emergence" From The "Fondation Armand-Frappier"


Neurochem Inc. (TSX : NRM) is pleased to announce it has received The Fondation Armand-Frappier 2001 Award in the "Emergence" category. This award was created to honour Quebec life science and biotechnology companies that are less than 15 years old and have distinguished themselves by virtue of exceptional research and development efforts.

Established in 1993, Neurochem has emerged with dual expertise in the research and development of therapeutics for the central nervous system (CNS) and amyloid-related diseases including Alzheimer's Disease, Hemorrhagic Stroke due to Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy, Type II Diabetes and Secondary Amyloidosis. To date, the Company has three products advanced into clinical trials, including one ongoing pivotal Phase II/III study; the Company has also eight issued key patents and has 74 active patent applications currently under review.
